Supervised 30 pattern makers, 107 sample makers, 19 cutters, 5 Wal-Mart consumer-testing clerks. Company is a high volume Manufacturer of women, missy, girls' and junior sportswear items specializing in denim, woven fabrics, knits, rayons, etc. Manufactures: Denim pants, skirts, shorts, etc. Wovens and knits, novelty trimmed blouses, dresses and coordinate groups.

1990-1991 – Sourcing and Quality Assurance
Importers of men and boys woven and knit shirts, fleece-type sweat tops and bottoms, denim jeans and walk shorts. Traveled extensively to Asia and Middle East working with manufacturer on preparing new sample lines, approved fabric design, size specifications, packaging and delivery schedules, etc. Found new manufacturers to add to the production requirements of the company.

Army-Air Force Exchange Service – Dallas, Texas
1986-1990 – Quality Assurance Specialist/Supervisor
Under the general direction of the Chief, Inspection Branch, was responsible for the training and supervision of field inspectors. It was the department’s goal to direct manufacturers of all types of apparel to comply with the rigid quality standards demanded by AAFES. Evaluation of vendors’ quality control and inspection system. Inspection and testing of products at manufacturer’s facilities. Provided technical advice and assistance to vendors so that they could deliver an acceptable product. Approved finished garments before shipment was made to Dallas warehouses.

Sewed first samples, developed cost-saving method for sewing undergarments, trained new sample makers, traveled to factories in the Caribbean to inspect and monitor quality of the garments. Evaluated fittings.
